Architecture

Municipal Palace

One of the most characteristic 14th-century municipal buildings in northern Italy. This palace, with a rectangular plan (29.50x12 meters), consists of a loggia open to the public on the ground floor, with 8 arches and an open-beam ceiling decorated with painted tablets. On the second floor is the council chamber, accessible via a monumental external staircase. An architectural masterpiece that embodies the medieval elegance of Venzone.

Cathedral of St. Andrew the Apostle

Built beginning in 1251 by feudal lord Glizoio of Mels, the cathedral stands on ancient sites of worship, with traces of a Carolingian-Ottonian church dating back to the 6th century. Although almost completely destroyed by the 1976 earthquake, it was skillfully rebuilt through a complex anastylosis operation. Today the cathedral is one of the most important symbols of Venzone's medieval citadel.

San Genesio Gate

This ancient gate served as the main entrance to the fortified citadel, a symbol of Venzone's strategic importance and defense in the Middle Ages.

City Wall

The double walls, complete with 15 towers, surround the medieval town of Venzone, perfectly preserved as it was in the Middle Ages. A journey through time through its imposing walls.

Radiussi Palace

This historic building is an example of local noble architecture.

Martina Palace

A splendid example of a stately residence, reflecting the rich history of the citadel.
